Our first stop is ~1 month in Quito, Ecuador where we will take Spanish classes in the morning and spend the rest of our time exploring while practicing our Spanish. Classes start on Monday and until then we have kept ourselves busy, slowly to begin with as we acclimate to the altitude (9,350').
We went to Palacio de Cristal in Itchimbía, botanical gardens in Parque La Carolina, Basílica del Voto Nacional in the historic city center where we climbed to the top of the tower, and today to the equator line which is known here as Mitad del Mundo (middle of the earth)!
Here, are some pictures from the first few days.
